I have a nosebleed (and a bit of a headache, but I’m dilly-dallying).
This is mininova’s TV leaderboard 24 hours after the return of LOST.
Actually, my memory is failing, as it would on the island if I was unstuck in time. Did Charlotte have a headache?

The Jacobian Sequence
I’m giving the sequence of numbers starting 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 the name “The Jacobian Sequence”.
That is, until someone explains it properly (is this it?).

5 December 2008 - 13:22 | Tags: tv, curbyourenthusiasmIn my advice on how to write an episode of Fringe last week I joked that Peter would use the Fibonacci sequence to explain something to Olivia. Well, it actually happened in this week’s episode. Walter had been storing secrets in safety deposit boxes numbered with elements from the sequence.
For a few moments I basked in the glory of being spot-on the money (despite it being obvious that they would go there eventually). Then I did a little research and it turns out that the creators have been using the Fibonacci sequence since the beginning, both in the marketing materials and in viral stuff like the 1.61803398874989484820458683436563811.com website. Walter even mumbled the sequence in an earlier episode.
Now I’m beginning to wonder if I knew this all along and just conveniently forgot it. Or maybe I’ve pulled the memories from a future self using “fringe science”. Where is Walter when you need him?

I find it weird that Serena/Blake can look great in photographs but all wrong when in motion. Conversely, Blair/Leighton usually looks bad in photographs but there is something about her in motion that is impossible to capture. Seriously, the actor deserves an Oscar for her ability to use her face/eyebrows/mouth/nose to convey a mixture of anger, exasperation, dismissal, conceit, superiority and, above all, vulnerability.
Gossip Girl is the Shakespeare of our time. “Okay, wait, pause”, that doesn’t really make sense. It’s like a Jane Austen novel written via TXT. It’s Swan Lake performed in a Jamba Juice. Whatever.

According to the reputable publication that is E! Online, there will be a Gossip Girl spin-off webisode series featuring Dorota. The original plan was for “Young Rufus and Lily in Love”, but that has been scrapped for Dorota. Random Dorota fact: that the actor who plays Dorota actually went to Yale, where all the Gossip Girlies are hoping to attend.

Without a doubt, my new absolute favourite moment from Gossip Girl: in the most recent episode we learned that Dorota’s ringtone is Britney’s “I’m a slave 4 U”.
[Update: NYMag.com gives the ringtone +25. Rightly so!]
